Hyaluronic acid

The most popular and safest preparation used both to fill in fine lines and to replenish subcutaneous tissue that disappears with age (resulting in visible nasolabial folds, marionette lines and the so-called jowls). After medical consultation, a product with appropriate density is selected as well as the place and method of administering (nasolabial folds, wrinkles, tear trough, lip augmentation and modelling, the backs of the hands, volumetry).

The use of hyaluronic acid allows for quick and effective correction of wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is injected into the wrinkle line. In addition to the filling effect, the preparation stimulates the skin to regenerate; thus, when it’s absorbed, the wrinkles are generally less visible than before the treatment. Hyaluronic acid integrates completely into the skin tissues. This treatment will help you get rid of wrinkles and deep furrows. The effects are visible immediately after the treatment and look very natural.

Hyaluronic acid – volumetric lifting

Indications

  • Cheekbones enhancement
  • Cheek modelling
  • Filling the hollow temples

Treatment description

Volumetric lifting is designed to replenish the volume of the face that diminishes with age or specific anatomical loss of facial subcutaneous tissue. With time, both the bone and subcutaneous tissue gradually decline and at some point the process becomes visible, having an adverse effect on the face. Also, due to loss of skin elasticity, the cheeks become sunken, causing the formation of folds and furrows and lowering the corners of the mouth.

Is the treatment painful?

An hour before the treatment, we apply a cream with an anaesthetic ingredient in areas where the preparation is to be administered.

When are the effects visible and how long do they last?

Wrinkle smoothing treatments which involve hyaluronic acid are very effective and give immediate results; however, these are not done once and for all. After 9-12 months, the hyaluronic acid preparations become subject to gradual degradation and are completely absorbed. Around the nose, the process can even take up to 24 months.

Therapy regimen

It is a relatively simple, fast, and safe treatment in the hands of an experienced doctor.
The preparation is injected with a special blunt needle inserted through a skin puncture in the hairy scalp area. Injections may also be given with a traditional needle deep into subcutaneous tissue, and in some areas, such as the mandible or chin, they must reach the bone.

Post-treatment recommendations

After the treatment, strong sunlight (solarium) and heating (sauna, solar radiation) must be avoided for 2 weeks.

Contraindications:

  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding
  • Autoimmune diseases, immunotherapy
  • Susceptibility to hypertrophic scars
  • Skin inflammation and active skin infections (herpes, acne)
  • Hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid
  • Coagulation disorders
  • Cancer

Attention!  The interval between wrinkle filling and other skin rejuvenation methods (Botox injections, laser therapy, chemical peel, microdermabrasion) should be min. 3 weeks.

Side effects

  • Redness, swelling
  • Injection site pain – these symptoms disappear within 72 hours
  • Itching in the case of sensitive skin
  • Correction site hypersensitivity
  • Occasionally, protuberance formed by thickened skin lasting for several weeks

Hyaluronic acid – lip modelling

Indications

  • Lip augmentation
  • Mouth contour modelling
  • Mouth shape correction
  • Lip revitalisation
  • Enhancing firmness
  • Filling in fine lines around the mouth

Treatment description

One of the most popular methods to improve your appearance nowadays has become lip modelling, which improves the contour and increases the volume of the mouth. The treatment can be carried out regardless of the patient’s age. In young women and men, the correction is applied mostly to underdeveloped upper or lower lips. At a later age, we mainly correct the lip contour and changes resulting from the progressing lip ageing related to dehydration of the lips. The lips are well-hydrated, regain colour and youthful firmness. Increasing the volume of lips causes fine lines and larger wrinkles around the mouth to disappear, giving an overall rejuvenation effect.

Is the treatment painful?

Since the mouth area is very sensitive, we offer our patients anaesthesia either by applying anaesthetic cream about 40 minutes before the procedure, or by means of local anaesthesia (dental anaesthesia).

When are the effects visible and how long do they last?

After the procedure, the implant is undetectable and gives the feeling of naturally enlarged lips. Depending on the preparation, the effects may last from 6 to 12 months.

Therapy regimen

The lip modelling procedure does not require any special preparation. It is one of the treatments you can have during your lunch break.
Do not take aspirin or use anti-inflammatory drugs about 3 days before the procedure.
On the day of the treatment, intensive body heating (sauna, solarium, solar radiation) and intensive physical activity should be avoided.
Directly before the procedure, you must wash off any make-up from your lips.
The hyaluronic acid preparation is injected by the doctor with a pre-filled ampoule-syringe and a very thin needle.

Post-treatment recommendations

For a few hours after the procedure, the patient should avoid excessive expression around the mouth as well as touching and massaging the injection sites. Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight and heat (solarium, solar radiation, sauna) for about 2 weeks.
All these recommendations are aimed at achieving the best possible result.

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Susceptibility to hypertrophic scars
  • Skin inflammation and active skin infections (herpes, acne)
  • Hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid
  • Coagulation disorders
  • Cancer

Side effects

After the injection, inflammatory reactions such as swelling, redness, or erythema may occur. There is also a risk of developing a haematoma. All these symptoms disappear spontaneously within a few days

Hyaluronic acid – wrinkle filling, modelling

Indications

  • Filling of nasolabial folds
  • Filling the “tear trough” (cavities going from the corner of the eye to the cheek)
  • Filling the “marionette lines” (wrinkles going from the corners of the mouth)
  • Correction of the drooping mouth corners
  • Modelling the chin and mandibular line
  • Nose shape correction
  • Hand filling/revitalising
  • Scar filling (atrophic scars, burn scars, acne scars, post-operative scars, post-traumatic scars)

Treatment description

Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the skin – it is an essential component of the skin, as it maintains its proper level of hydration and firmness. Unfortunately, with age, its amount is gradually depleted, which makes the skin become dry and loose, the wrinkles appear, and cheeks and lips lose their volume.
Injecting preparations with hyaluronic acid into the dermis effectively supplements the deficiencies, moisturises the skin, fills in the wrinkles, increases volume, models the lips, improves facial contour, and stimulates natural skin regeneration processes, so that even after absorbing the preparation the skin looks better than before the treatment.
Hyaluronic acid used to smooth out the wrinkles is a synthetic preparation which significantly reduces the risk of allergy symptoms. It is very convenient, as it does not require prior allergy testing.

Is the treatment painful?

An hour before the treatment, we apply a cream with an anaesthetic ingredient in places where the preparation is to be administered.

Preparations for filling wrinkles with hyaluronic acid are in the form of a crystalline, very ductile and flexible gel, which, when inserted into the skin, fills the wrinkles, giving very natural results. They are administered with very thin needles, which reduces the pain. After injecting the gel into the wrinkle line or mouth, the preparation binds water and increases the volume of a given area, smoothing out the wrinkles. The treatment usually takes up to 30 minutes. The result can be seen immediately in the mirror. Treatments do not exclude the patient from everyday life.
